The Life of Mrs. Pace

The 2017-18 school year marks my 18th year of teaching.  I have taught 9th Grade English every year; most years I also teach 12th Grade English and a Mythology course.  I graduated from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA with a major in English, an emphasis in British Literature, and a minor in Secondary Education.

My family and I have lived here for the last nine years.  Before moving to Knoxville, my husband and I grew up in Richmond, VA.  I taught high school at Douglas Southall Freeman High School from 2000-2008 and coached varsity cheering.  We have two adorable children (I know...I'm biased) named Bella and Charlie.  My daughter plays soccer and my son is obsesssed with trains.  We are protected by our loyal Boxer, Manning.  He's a sweet giant. We lead a very busy life, but it's full of love.  I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm excited to start this new school year.  We are back to having Flight Time every day, which is hugely beneficial to our academy system.  HVA is a very special place.  There are numerous ways to plug in and get involved.  We have a club or sport for everyone.  I encourage you to be a joiner.  Find your niche; a sense of belonging makes the high school experience more enjoyable.
